Beacon is a technology startup that is working to create an intuitively designed web-based intervention support system for K-12 schools. I was brought on to develop a brand identity for the company that included a logo, type system, and color palette.
Beacon’s identity needed to appropriately represent a secure and data-driven support system, while still promoting a sense of hope and compassion for the students it serves. The Beacon logo communicates these sentiments by combining three symbols into one powerful, yet concise logo—a sunrise to represent hope, a beacon to represent a goal, and an upward trend to represent data.
