Deep Futures is a Mailchimp original podcast that explores how various industries will change in the coming future. Host, Annalee Newitz asks her listeners to imagine what a “better tomorrow” may look like. My role was to brand the series, which involved creating key art, promotional assets, and title artwork for each of the series’ six episodes.
I wanted to incorporate the more abstract themes of the podcast in my design, like imagining what a brighter, optimistic, and more empathetic future might look like. The result is a design system that uses ambient gradients and soft-focus illustrations to represent the uncertainty, but promise, of what “tomorrow” looks like.
